"C Street" is the name given to a secretive house in Washington DC, operated by the fundamentalist Christian organization known as "The Family." It serves as a meeting place and sometimes residence for prominent politicians (primarily Republicans). The house has recently gained notoriety for its relationship to the sex scandals of several Republicans including Sen. John Ensign (NV), Gov. Mark Sanford (SC), and Rep. Chip Pickering (MS).

What is The Atheist Experience?
The Atheist Experience is a weekly cable access television show in Austin, Texas geared at an atheist and non-atheist audience. The Atheist Experience is produced by the Atheist Community of Austin (ACA), a nonprofit educational corporation to develop and support the atheist community, to provide opportunities for socializing and friendship, to promote secular viewpoints, to encourage positive atheist culture, to defend the first amendment principle of state-church separation, to oppose discrimination against atheists and to work with other organizations in pursuit of common goals.

@Krocotto umm, hate ... ( 1 year ago by mysticresistence)
@Krocotto umm, hate to break it to you home-skillet, but the whole idea of Deism (the "e" comes before the "i", btw) is that a intelligence created the universe a & does not intervene & hence, there are no miracles.
I am going to college for Comparative Religion right now &, from what I have sen, I know allot more about it than you do.
@Krocotto 50 years? ... ( 1 year ago by mysticresistence)
@Krocotto 50 years? Looks more like the writing of an fourteen year old Emo Kid who's parents caught him wearing his little sister's pants again.
No, God is not a "mystery". God is. What the heck it is varies from person to person. God is as much a "mystery" as love or humor is: something that can be experienced but not put into words & hence, we have myths to use as metaphors for the real thing or as Joseph Campbell called them "the masks of God"
@Krocotto Ohh do ... ( 1 year ago by mysticresistence)
@Krocotto Ohh do spare me, SPARE ME that same old tired line about "organized religion" Look up "American Atheist" & see that there is organized Atheism too!
Not to mention many religion, like Wicca, Asatru, Gnosticism etc are extremely DISORGANIZED...it's possible for a Wiccan to become Wiccan, practice Wicca from cradle to grave, & never meet with or associate w/another Wiccan...so how, pray tell, is that "organized" religion? LOL!
Please keep up the cursing & psychotic Ad Hominem attacks :)
@mysticresistence : ... ( 1 year ago by Krocotto)
@mysticresistence :
Ah, yes, grasshopper, another 'college' puke who, having taken a few courses, fancies him/ herself another Aquinas.
Listen, dipshit, I give no respect because you deserve none. Every, and I mean EVERY little idiot bit you've vomited up has been done a thousand times before and each time it's been shot down.
Even your idiot bit that 'god' is 'god' to each individual in turn.
Come on, buckwheat, come up with something original, instead of parroting your prof.
@mysticresistence : ... ( 1 year ago by Krocotto)
@mysticresistence :
All religions, buckwheat, ALL religions...
While you're patting yourself on the back over your 'courses' see if you can take one on the English language. There's a concept called 'reading comprehension' that you should look up. It will enable you to understand and remember both the meaning and the context of what you are reading.
(Makes you look a little smarter, too. Not quite so dense as to miss that I repeatedly ranted about "ALL" religions.)
@Krocotto Actually, ... ( 1 year ago by mysticresistence)
@Krocotto Actually, I am a few classes short of a BA in Comparative Religion, unlike you, obviously.
Anyway, I do not even believe in God as a personal entity, but a tranpersonal...it. Or, maybe God is "just" in the mind...does that mean God is less worth while? What if God is just a feeling: does that mean feelings should be ignored? Of course not.
Please keep up the cursing because you are making me look good. You do realize you sound every bit like a manic street preacher for Atheism? LOL!
@mysticresistence : ... ( 1 year ago by Krocotto)
@mysticresistence :
It is cute, though, when someone like you is exposed to the pseudo-intellectual asswipe apologists for the filth of the stupidity of relgion and then thinks that he/she is fit to argue about such profundities.
You think that because the argument seems clever and new to you that it is, in fact, new and clever; not realizing, of course, that millions have heard the same tired old shit and dismissed it all way, way, WAY long ago.
But hey, it's new to you!
@Krocotto BTW, the ... ( 1 year ago by mysticresistence)
@Krocotto BTW, the use of terms like "dipshit" do not portray yourself as intelligent in the least .
Due get a education, learn what is & how to avoid an Ad Hominem attack & try again.
@Krocotto So, a ... ( 1 year ago by mysticresistence)
@Krocotto So, a religion that does not require it's members to be a part of any organization or even meet members of the same faith at all is a "organized religion" how exactly?
ROTFL! For a "rationalist" you certainly curse like someone who is quite irrational in a bad way.
By all means, do keep this up, because this is funnier than a Mystery Science 3000 Marathon.
@mysticresistence : ... ( 1 year ago by Krocotto)
@mysticresistence : Ah, the old "I"ve been to college, gathering knowledge" so I know more than you.
No, you ignorant, educated-beyond-your intelligence, smug little snot. You seem to feel that by attending classes your opinion is any better than a gap-toothed, inbred hillbilliy's.
Take some reality classes, buckwheat, like physics, maths, biology, cosmology, you know, the stuff that dupes like you hate because of 'all that math' and 'all that precision' stuff.
@Krocotto um... ... ( 1 year ago by mysticresistence)
@Krocotto um...what's "relgion"? Is that an acne medication or something? Ohh, & my favorite scholars on Christianity, Bart Ehrman, Elaine Pagels, Marvin Meyer etc, are not themselves Christians (they're all Agnostic) & are not apologists. The only apologist I like is Alister McGrath.
I do hate to point this out to you but, cursing in and of it's self does not help you to win an argument & it is in fact usually counter-productive.
@Krocotto I go to a ... ( 1 year ago by mysticresistence)
@Krocotto I go to a secular, public college, would never be caught dead in a seminary school, and actually have thirteen credits of biology & nine of mathematics under my belt...I also have six credits in psychology, although you seem to require the assistance of someone with allot more education in the field of psychology than I have.
Ohh...& what exactly is reality? Too much damn George Berkeley has me wondering...
@mysticresistence : ... ( 1 year ago by Krocotto)
@mysticresistence : Get a clue, doofus!
I know that spelling can be just a visual problem, but it does make you look a little less bright... (that's do, not due....)
And no, you do not deserve correct, proper English.
And stop displaying your massive ignorance about Atheist groups. I belong to several and they are more disorganized than a herd of cats. They bicker and fight over the stupidest stuff, including, ala' South Park, the *name* of the group!
Those boys got it right, yet again!
@mysticresistence : ... ( 1 year ago by Krocotto)
@mysticresistence : Good. So did I. But don't take upon yourself the hubris of "The Best and the Brightest," that group of Ivy-league of smug mugs that sent us down the tubes in Vietnam, cause Hey! We can win it, when no other country has!
You've been, at best, introduced to the concepts of what religion is, nothing more. You need years of study and good biology in order to understand, for instance, that many 'mystics' are merely schizophrenics in deep hallucinatory psyhosis.
@mysticresistence : ... ( 1 year ago by Krocotto)
@mysticresistence : It was, in fact, Shermer's books that alerted me to the PET Scan and drug studies that showed what was happening in the brains of schizophrenics who claim to be seeing and talking with 'god.'
That was for me, the final nail in the coffin. Trained to accept what a person says they see, they see, I couldn't know for sure WHAT they were seeing. Now I know given the right drugs and stimulus, I can make ANYONE see 'god' just like the mystics.
God, just another hallucination.
@Krocotto Ad ... ( 1 year ago by mysticresistence)
@Krocotto Ad hominem attacks again.They don't make your position look very good. You realize that you'd be kicked out of any academic debate if you said things like that...but I suppose the professors & university in question would all be a bunch of "doofusses" too?
Ohh, & all Atheist groups have something uniting them: they are all 1) in a group and 2) all Atheists. Wiccans, on the other hand, are polytheist, non-theist, agnostic, pantheist etc, & many are too independent to even have a group
@Krocotto What the ... ( 1 year ago by mysticresistence)
@Krocotto What the hell does Vietnam have to do with this? Last time I saw a strawman that big, I was watching "The Wizard of Oz", LOL!
Ohh, & Zen mediation involves seeing the world as it is, which is the exact opposite of a hallucination. According to a Bloomsburg University study, zen monks had a better than average ability to discern illusions from reality, i.e., they were less likely to see things...but what does a University study know? LOL!
keep this up, man, you have me ROTFL
@Krocotto Yes, and ... ( 1 year ago by mysticresistence)
@Krocotto Yes, and there are schizophrenics who claim to see J Edgar Hoover too, does that me Hoover doesn't exist? Also, not all mysticism is about a deity, & anyone who spent so much as ten minutes studying religion & mysticism would know that. Taoist have a mystic connection with nature, same with Wiccans although many of them personify it in a kind of pantheism and/or animism...so I guess nature doesn't exist either?
LMAO! A fallacy on top of a strawman wrapped in reductio ad adsurdum!
:)
@mysticresistence ... ( 1 year ago by Krocotto)
@mysticresistence Ah, enough of the child who, quoting authors and profs, has nothing to offer.
Come back when you've learned on your own, and can do something besides parrot others.
You're just another liar for god, the kind who help support the idiocies that produce the 9-11 bombers, the clinic bombers, etc.
In other words, a person too weak and stupid to understand that in their over-educated ignorance, they are helping the insane destroy the world in the name of god, allah, etc.
@Krocotto Excuse me ... ( 1 year ago by mysticresistence)
@Krocotto Excuse me,if you bother to read, I annihilated every one of your "points" & you offer nothing but more ad hominem attacks
Why don't you look up The Cult of Reason, who massacred about 10,000 people in the hope of making France a "rational, atheistic society"? You sound allot like them. Or Enver Hoxha's Rationalist, scientist regime based on Atheism that murdered millions or the Soviet Union's Order of the Militant Godless
You're just another rambling homicidal fundie of Atheism

REPEAT AFTER ME: All religious fundamentallists are sexually frustrated. They repress themselves and hate to be reminded who and what they are when they see someone who reminds them of who and what they are. Look at Jimmy Bakker. Anti this, anti that, yet turned dto other men when he was in jail. And the worst part is: UNEDUCATED HILLBILLIES GAVE HIM,AND TAMMY, THEIR MONEY. THEY WERE BUYING THEIR WAY INTO HEAVEN. THE FUCKING IDIOTS WERE SHORT-CHANGED BY A CHRISTIAN BONNIE AND CLYDE COUPLE
