On how many levels is this funny? 1 For anyone 2 young to remember, Jones' vocal style was 90% indebted to black soul singing in an age when white singers DID NOT sing like this AT ALL, so for him to be a hero to Carlton--supposedly the less "authentically black" of the show's two boy--is funny; and 2 That afro-wannabe Tom is hero to the show's implicit " uncle tom" is funny; while 3 Carlton--who sings & dances amazingly--should have been treated as the less black bet. him and W. Smith is funny!
