"The Politics of Dancing" is a hit song by the British New Wave/synthpop band Re-Flex, released in 1983. It is the title track of their only released album.
It became the biggest hit of their career, peaking at #28 in the United Kingdom and #24 in the United States. The band managed to chart two more singles in the UK, but only managed to get one more single in the US. This song remains their signature song but makes Re-Flex considered as a one-hit wonder because of this song's massive popularity and the group's unpopular run of follow-up singles.

@dopejoel ---no doubt, the net offers amusement, knowledge and convenience. But think about how much people are so obsessed w/it. Farcebook is nothing but a display case for narcissism. People are texting incessantly. They can't even talk to you (or drive) anymore without checking their stupid phones. Think about how many kids and young men are zoned out playing video games instead of engaging the outside world. I know its not the fault of technology, but life seems mechanical and sterile today.

@u2joshuadesireu --I did say it wasn't perfect and when I said the past, I didn't necessarily mean just the 80s. And think about it...there were no terror threat levels then, no airport patdowns, no home invasions, no school lockdowns, no flash mobs, no Octomoms, no Lilos, no gang shootings at the mall, no celebrity gossip obsessiveness, no texting incessantly, no political correctness, no sensitivity training, no frivilous lawsuits for spilled coffee. Life is more complicated and ugly today.
