Pranav Mistry: The thrilling potential of SixthSense technology

http://www.ted.com At TEDIndia, Pranav Mistry demos several tools that help the physical world interact with the world of data -- including a deep look at his SixthSense device and a new, paradigm-shifting paper "laptop." In an onstage Q &A, Mistry says he'll open-source the software behind SixthSense, to open its possibilities to all.
TEDTalks is a daily video podcast of the best talks and performances from the TED Conference, where the world's leading thinkers and doers give the talk of their lives in 18 minutes. Featured speakers have included Al Gore on climate change, Philippe Starck on design, Jill Bolte Taylor on observing her own stroke, Nicholas Negroponte on One Laptop per Child, Jane Goodall on chimpanzees, Bill Gates on malaria and mosquitoes, Pattie Maes on the "Sixth Sense" wearable tech, and "Lost" producer JJ Abrams on the allure of mystery.
TED stands for Technology, Entertainment, Design, and TEDTalks cover these topics as well as science, business, development and the arts. Genius! But I think this is just a part of the puzzle. The real invention would be when Biology is integrated with this. Maybe far into the future but I hope that someday I can get a chip inside my head that reads my gestures and then transmits the images directly to the brain (instead of a projector).

Homosexual activists understand the power of words.
Please visit my channel to watch a one-minute video clip in which popular atheist author Richard Dawkins admits that homosexual activists "hijacked the word 'gay'".
The word "homosexual" is more appropriate and accurate because it, unlike the word "gay", actually describes the behavior/attraction/relationship being discussed.
The word "gay" helps homosexual activists push their agenda.

this stuff is pretty old hat, and sure he has made up a few gestures by the idea of augmented (and reverse augmented) reality has been around a long time, and there were pioneers before his time : he is just lucky to be in a time that micro projectors exist and cpu speeds are fast enough, the rest is just either obvious or done before.
i was not so impressed with this as he does not address any of the issues with it. It is obviously cumbersome buggy slow ugly and pretty unusable as a prototype

the sixth sense ... ( 1 week ago by Vir10101)
the sixth sense devise should b supported with more than two "LED" projectors so that we can form a 3D image in front of us rather than projecting it on walls or any other surfaces, so that the unnecessary requirement of surfaces on which things being projected, can be eliminated. off course, the need of advanced mni-micro projectors has to be satisfied in the first place which is not the case now a days. but when these projectors take one step forward, the sixth sense also will follow its lead.

@jamieoscar because its really not a good idea when you think about it. you would still have to carry around a device and screens offer better image quality than projectors so whats the point? plus a light projector would be a disturbance in many places i would think?

@quosmo1 : well if it's old hat, I am sure you would have done something solid to revolutionize the world. If u have please have the courtesy to tell us all about it and if vice- versa, then please have the gratitude to acknowledge the work of a genius.

@neo5728 how would my accomplishments have anything to do with someone elses being 'old hat' ? thats a retarded idea ...
do you look at a 1980's comodor64 computer and say 'i could build a better one' even though its old hat ?
do you look at a 16th century catapult and say 'i could build a better one' ? im sure you could not.
etc etc
you have no point here.

@neo5728 what are you blabbering on about, read my post again maybe ...
old hat, old tech, old ideas is not the same as me saying they are crap or bad ideas.
i am not saying there is much better in that genre of human-computer interface, i am saying that what he is presenting is not new.
what are you failing to understand ?
if someone says it is old stuff, seen years before, pioneered by others, it does NOT mean i need to give you examples of something better ... it has nothing to do with it
