@speedish77 That's funny because on another video people accuse him of being a pro-U.S. sellout. I guess since he receives criticism from all sides that means he's probably pretty objective. And for the record, supporting free trade (which Fareed is doing here) is not supporting redistribution of wealth, in fact it's the exact opposite.

No matter what way we look at it the West is going to have to embrace the east and work on there problems.I agree with Zareed.It is right in our faces and yet we fail to see it.The west needs to broaden their horizons and unite to gain prosperity and have peace.

Fareed has a checkered past-I know an electrician that works in Atlanta and did some work on the studios at CNN and he said the camera men found an old police report that Fareed had been cited for lewd acts with a minor (9 year old boy) when Zakaria was in college. The kids' parents didn't want it to go public and they settled out of court but Fareed also was banned from coaching children's sports in that city

I could say that I'm amazed by how easily people are manipulated by him, but I'd be lieing. Frankly, I generally blame a lack of education.

Thank you, Zakaria. You mentioned that we are falling behind in education, science, etc. A major reason for that is the amount of money we are spending on military defense, more than all other countries behind. See article in the NY Times, 3-13-11, on military boondoggles and the money that could be saved.

@San47di Obama is almost done with his first term and we have seen our problems become more politically petty and polarizing then ever before, and our greatest problems on Wall Street, with the housing market, and social security have been untouched while our public education system continues to fall behind the rest of the world. Obama has been outmatched by the Republicans frequently, and he is certainly very vulnerable to Romney this go around. I would be more worried if I were you.
