Very informative sootch00. Thanks for sharing that bit of info. How you packaged you firearms and ammo was one of the things that I was wondering about when you mentioned you flew out to the TNP shoot. Keep up the good work.

@sootch00
Delta was fine. Charged me $25 per, just like normal checked items (4people/4bags). TSA at SJC in CA was a bit weird. They don't allow you to be present while they inspect your cases. That part kind of freaks me out since I was traveling with about $2K in firearms (rifle, shotgun, 5 handguns) and had no way to verify they had re-locked the cases correctly. Honestly it sounds like they cared more about checking for explosive residue than if the firearms were loaded or not.

Lucky you my friend. In New York it's hell. God forbid you need to take a connecting flight through New Jersey. So many horror stories. I wish I lived out west or in a more free state. I hate New York, I love my AR-15 though, lol

You wont BELIEVE some of the Micky Mouse cases I have seen come back to us to be Screened. Ive seen card board boxes,cases missing a hinge or not enough locks and anyone could reach inside and remove items from the case. We of course send them back out to the passenger.Ive seen them run out to the gun store near our airport,buy a case & locks and come back.
