@sasunshine1123456 I have some chinese friends and their explanation is the same as yours. However, many of their closest friends even call them by their english name. It is frankly up to the foreigners to try to learn how to pronounce it. It is not your obligation to make it easier for lazy foreigners who doesnt even try :)
I learnt the chinese names of my friends (i think its only fair) and i love pronouncing them! I think it is more personal.
For strangers however, i can understand the need

夏 = Xia [sheeya] (last name) meaning "summer"
美芝 = Meizhi [may-jurr] (first name) meaning "beautiful iris"
