I challenge you to prove that "majority rule" (democracy) is a form of "rule of law" (republic).
The video depicts the perfect example of the difference; the legal right (republic) of a wanted man being protected from the harms of a mob (democracy).
You are conveniently incorrectly equating voting rights to democracy.
If anything, the Republic is giving the people a taste of democracy; not the other way around.
Possibly. However, that would require a rule (law) to dictate that distinction. And, a governing body to enforce that rule, which is governance by law (Republic).
