The Unofficial Bloodrock Sampler

This is a multi-song sampler of an early 1970s hard rock band from Texas by the name of Bloodrock. The songs are accompanied by slides of their corresponding album covers and rare band photos.
This is the first ever Bloodrock video to be submitted to YouTube and will remain here until the copyright nazi patrol takes it down. Enjoy!

Somewhere out there in musicland, there has to be some vintage footage of Bloodrock. Someone PLEEEEEEEEZE post some! I've never seen them in concert and they have always been one of my favorite bands. There has never been a song like D.O.A., before or since. A stroke of genius.

"We were flying low, and hit something in the air." I'll never forget how much my Bloodrock album pissed my bro off, as he was trying to listen to Chicago (shudder).

As much as his guitar playing dominated their heavier tunes, I was quite surprised that Lee's solo album was so tame by comparison. I was disappointed anyway...

most of it fizzled out during the mid 80's when the record companies started obtaining a vice grip on rock & roll's creative direction and what only they decided should get time in the limelight.

when I used to work at little caesars, I'd switch the boombox over to the local classic rock station KZPS. one night someone called in to the station and requested D.O.A., which I later ran some of the lyrics for through a search engine - at first impression I thought it was Dio singing, but soon found it to be a different band entirely.

Glad Bloodrock is not forgotten...alhtough the Ham period was very forgettable...saw that version of Bloodrock in Chattanooga in 72...the great player Lee Pickins was gone (I think he influenced early Neal Schon) as well as Rutledge. Somebody post "A Certain Kind" from Bloodrock III...

Great comp of this overlooked big label US Hardrock band. Bloodrock 1 and "D.O.A" of Bloodrock 2 are great. Good introduction to this band. We need these for more bands say Dust, Poobah, etc etc You USA guys get busy!

Back in 1983 there was a video for the second song, "Something In The Air." It was a strong anti-drunk driving statement. Ands the video was quite graphic and disturbing. I saw thew video on a now defunct cable station called U68 that ran out of Newark New Jersey. It always stuck with me.
